Serving the Eaton Fire Family in Pasadena

Finding Hope in the Ashes

Today, I had the privilege of serving a family affected by the Eaton Fire in Pasadena, California. Although the Eaton Fire area remains closed to the public, I had the incredible opportunity to get there with the help of friends and partners.

Filtering Ashes for Treasures

As we began our search, our focus was on reclaiming the precious jewelry and souvenirs lost in the burning ashes. It felt like we were gold miners, sifting through the remnants in hopes of uncovering hidden treasures. Incredibly, the mother found her son’s collection of crystals, which brought back beautiful memories of his childhood.

A Reminder of Faith and Resilience

As I continued to filter through the ashes, my heart raced when I discovered a diamond ring amidst the debris. Friends around me also unearthed home decorations that the mother had lovingly gathered over the past 20 years. Despite the devastating loss, the family’s deep faith in God stood as a beacon of hope that inspired me to maintain joy, even in the toughest of circumstances.

Serving in disaster areas is more than just a task for me; it’s my passion. This experience reinforced my dedication to earning resources that allow me to help others in need. My wish for everyone is to remain safe and well, spreading love and support in challenging times.
